Innovation Montessori High School
School Profile
Community Description
Innovation Montessori High School (IMHS) provides a unique high school education aligned with the State of Florida guidelines. Our adolescent Montessori program focuses on ensuring students have met all graduation requirements, while also empowering them to take ownership of their learning experience, developing the skills and knowledge that allows them to be prepared for both college and careers as well as encouraging them to become responsible and engaged citizens of the world.
Our four-year high school experience aims to cultivate independent, inspired, and innovated leaders through purpose-driven Project-based Learning, a Montessori focus on a global perspective, and a four-year-long Innovation Incubator program.
Though their coursework, IMHS students master critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, adaptability, and the ability to transfer knowledge and apply skills across classes and well into their future. We believe this approach to education helps to develop 21st century skills that will serve students well in college and career settings well into their adult experience. As part of the Innovation Incubator program, students cultivate entrepreneurial skills, which culminate in the development of a major project, product, body of work , or even potentially a business or non-profit.
At IMHS we encourage our students to have full and rich lives beyond school and to pursue personal interests, hobbies and passions. Whenever possible, class work can be completed as part of a student’s academic work cycle and students are taught to budget their time and plan their work.

Test Policy: IMHS is an OCPS Public Charter School. We follow all the Florida State testing schedules – including End of Course Exams (EOC) and Florida Standardized Assessment (FSA) exams.
Grading Policy: At IMHS, we are focused on educating the whole child and developing life-long skills and knowledge. Our grades and evaluations of student work reflect that focus on evidence of mastery of concepts and skills. Students receive Progress Reports and Report Cards with grades reflected in percentage form. These percentages translate to a standard GPA. IMHS students receive a standard OCPS Report Card and a FLDOE Transcript.
Course Offerings: IMHS offers all required graduation requirements for Florida Public Schools. As a school we are focused on whole child education that prioritizes project-based learning and 90-minute work cycles for students to dig in deeply to subject and interest areas. We currently offer two advanced Placement (AP) courses on an annual rotation. We currently do not offer a dual enrollment program with any post-secondary institutions.
